Quick Charge supports cars such as (Nissan Leaf and other new vehicles)

CHAdeMO (sometimes also spelled CHΛdeMO) is a quick charging method for battery powered electric vehicles that is capable of delivering up to 62.5 kW of high voltage direct current. This type of high voltage high-current charging is called DC Fast Charge and is sometimes referred to as level 3 charging to contrast with less powerful AC charging levels.

CHAdeMO was formed by The Tokyo Electric Power Company, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Fuji Heavy Industries (the manufacturer of Subaru vehicles). Toyota later joined as its fifth executive member.

Compatible vehicles with the CHAdeMO standard include:

  • Nissan LEAF
  • Mitsubishi i MiEV
  • Subaru R1e (prototype)
