Hi Michael, I think the volt does qualify for free parking at LAX. I have seen several there. You don't have to plugin either. Here is an older article talking about it: LAX free PArking

Does the Volt qualify for the free parking at LAX? I have a trip coming up for a few days and wanted to leave my car charging in the EV spot. The LAX site says you can park electric vehicles for free up to 30 days in the EV spots. Wanted to know if anyone has left their car for 5 days connected.

Loos like all EVSE are unavailable due to construction. Was told they will be completed with new J1772 EVSE in a couple weeks.

Upgrades to LAX EV Parking are taking place. They have sent notice that the EV Charging will not be available from now till April 28th, 2012. Call before planning on getting a charge there.

There were 3 Leafs, 2 charging on the J chargers, the other blocking an SPI. Several RAVS.

If you are in an EV that uses a J-1772 plug and the Chargepoints are taken. Do not park in the space for SPI since people still need those. Just park in a regular spot. You will still get free parking.

Used one of the two ChargePoint stations Sunday with my LEAF. Tried both L1 with Nissan trickle charge J1772 cord and then directly with the ChargePoint 240V J1772. Both worked great. You’ll need a ChargePoint card though.
