This is the huge county complex that houses:

  • Gwinnett Arena
  • Gwinnett Performing Arts Center
  • Hudgens Center for the Arts
  • Gwinnett Convention Center

These chargers are located near the Arena entrance.

This site previously had old Avcon connectors, via two EVI DS-200 stations. Site management was contacted in May 2012 and encouraged to upgrade them to J1772, and they promptly responded. As of August 2012 these have been upgraded to J1772!

While they were at it, they moved the stations farther apart. Previously, while they had four charging cords, it was impossible to actually park four cars at the site. Now the stations are positioned so that four cars can plug in at once. Thank you Gwinnett Center!

I charged here on Sunday while at an event. There is now a big sign advertising the stations. The sign mentions Jackson EMC, so I wonder if they subsidized it in some way. See picture.

Good news! After checking this place out in May, and contacting the site management to ask about upgrading, they’ve done it! I’m told that the J1772 upgrades were completed on Monday. Further, they moved one of the pedestals to the left, so that now 4 cars can actually get to the 4 plugs.

I’ll get some pictures the next time I pass by there, and will update the site info here with a new description and new pictures.
